HOME IS HOME!
I’m officially back. The past few days have been a vortex across continents. My time in South Africa was brief, and though I had planned to share the foods I sampled, I didn’t capture them in photographs. And the thought of uploading videos feels like a task of its own.
While I was away, I wondered if anyone tried reaching me. Most of the calls I missed, I imagine, were from the many job applications I’ve sent out. If you are a non job giver that called, please reach out again. Travel has its own way of teaching you different things, and in this case — I learnt attentiveness. And one thing stood out clearly: no two airports are alike.
Johannesburg’s OR Tambo International
was a highlight for Africa. It was too modernised compared to the Ghanaian
standard. However, Istanbul’s airport impressed me with its amenities,
especially the free Wi-Fi that made waiting less tedious. I must say you can
get lost in Istanbul Airport if it is your first time being in that airport.
Qatar wasn’t bad too and I don’t want to talk about … I ate popeyes for the
first time.
Now that I’m back, my wallet hasn’t
survived. But, I treated myself to KFC, and the whole scene turned into comedy.
While I was waiting in line, a little boy clutched his 200 cedis, insisting it
was meant for him alone so he could buy out the entire KFC and had no room for
sharing. The driver, on the other hand, was negotiating for his own
“commission,” saying the boy’s father had instructed him to keep 50 cedis for
himself. According to the boy, his dad gave him the money directly; according
to the driver, his dad said, “Give uncle something.” 😂 [gotta
insert emoji]. The back-and-forth was so ridiculous that I couldn’t stop
laughing before it was even my turn to order.
NOTE: Anyways
I’m still job hunting for a copywriter, content writer, or a role I can easily
fit into. Check my portfolio not my writing publications if you get a hold of
my resume please!!!
Tried signing to read. Anyways I have missed a lot of chapters in your life. Michael here!!!
