Back to Church After a Long Break
Today, I finally went back to church. It was, in my metaphorical words, so
otherworldly because the last time I stepped into service was on 31st August
2025, the Sunday before I travelled out of Ghana for my trips. That feels like
ages ago.
Walking into the auditorium again, I was overcome by
excitement and gratitude. It was a truly rewarding service that left me revived
as a newborn baby. There is something about being in fellowship, thus, singing
together, listening to the Word, and sitting among people you know/ don’t know
usually that you cannot quite find anywhere else except in church.
I realized how much I have missed my role as an usher. Until
today, I never knew serving in church was this… wholesome. Also, I could not
help but think about the drama club which I used to go but then, I stopped. The
children’s ministry even tried to recruit me again today. I know the kids love
me, and I love them too, but let us just say I have my heart set on another
area of ministry for now.
All in all, it was a wonderful time, and I left church feeling renewed in spirit and heart. Sometimes, breaking away for a while helps you value what you once took for granted.
Nonetheless, I went late though.
On my way home to bake some meat pie and continue reading What It Means When a Man Falls from the Sky, I promised myself I would start showing up to church earlier. Whether I keep that promise is another story, because 7AM service is no small challenge. How about you? How was church for you today? I would love to hear about your experience. Share it with me in the comments section.
